Answered Prayer

AdrianNovember 19, 2002

Ours is a story of faith and hope, despair and healing, complete hopelessness and elation.  All these emotions my family has felt over a period of eleven and a half years.  These emotions began when our son Adrian was diagnosed with Corneal Ulcers at the age of 16 months.  We were so saddened to know our child would gradually loose his vision in his right eye, until he would become legally blind.

Over the past eleven years Adrian has suffered from ulcers each time he would get a cold or run a fever.  Each time his vision would gradually decrease.  The Ophthalmologist explained to my husband George and myself that (Adrian’s scarring of his eye) was like throwing wet mud on a window and letting it dry. The next time Adrian gets another ulcer, throw some more mud on the window and let it dry.  Each time the mud becomes thicker and thicker, the scarring of his eye would become denser and denser until he would not be able to see through the scarring.

Two years ago, Adrian broke out with a severe batch of ulcers on his cornea.  My husband and I approached our Pastor, Pastor Brian Robertson, and the elders of our church (Coral Coast Christian Church) to have Adrian anointed and praying hands laid upon him.  God answered our prayers even as they were being said.  It normally takes a period of two to six months for the ulcers and scarring to settle.  Adrian’s ulcer was healed and no new scarring had appeared in the short space of one week.  Having faith in our Heavenly Father, our prayers were answered.

This year Adrian’s health deteriorated and he has been unable to fight off any colds or flu’s for the past two and a half months.  As a result of his ill health Adrian has suffered badly from continued bouts of ulcers in his eye.   We again approached our Pastor and elders to anoint and pray for Adrian for healing of his eye and the return of his sight. The past three months have been an emotional roller coaster for us, as Adrian would get an ulcer and then, just as it was healing, he would get another. To the point, where we were told two weeks ago that he was now legally blind in his right eye.
